What's it all about?

So... To answer the obvious question, "where are Wendy's products?" What i can tell you is - stay tuned because beginning in June 2012 there will be lots of exciting designs debuting in apparel and decor!

For those of you familiar with my brand, you may have wondered, “what happened?” Well, about two years ago, life presented my family with a challenge beyond imagination. Here's what happened... >>

Cecilia, June 2010
Age 8

...In May of 2010, our second-oldest of four daughters, Cecilia, eight at the time, was diagnosed with a very serious form of soft tissue cancer. As you can imagine, her care immediately took on an unsurpassed level of priority for me and my husband, Joe, and our business was set aside indefinitely. In what is a huge understatement, I can say it was an immensely difficult struggle for Cecilia, as well as a life changing event for my entire family. Yet we were all inspired by her bravery and strength as she has beat the odds and has now pulled through into full remission. I could spend months on end writing about Cecilia's fight, and I did, personally posting about Cecilia's struggle to family and friends for most of the time in a private online group. But moving forward, we are all trying to achieve a new balance. Life from now on, for us, will be a "one day at a time" approach. We make the best of each day and have learned to appreciate the uneventful more than we ever thought we could.

Age 10

Gradually, life is returning to "normal" and I am back to work, from home (as I had worked before), with a slightly new perspective. One thing I also know, for many reasons, I am happy to get back to designing! I am VERY VERY BUSY these days developing everything from bedding collections to apparel to even shoes and this is only the beginning! We have many other exciting categories in the works and I am SO thrilled at what the future holds. There are still many challenges ahead, including emerging from the aftermath of the hardship a catastrophic illness can bring to a family, but like I said, I truly believe that we have to take it day-by-day. And that is just what I am doing!

So now in the midst of all this I've decided to keep this online journal. It is highly unlikely that I will write every day but when I do, I suppose it will be about not only design but also, in a sense, starting over, not only in business but in many different aspects of life.
